This policy explains what JobConnects.org stores on your device, why, and how to change your mind. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers personal data more broadly.
It applies to jobconnects.org and to the pages we serve at app.jobconnects.org.
Visiting this site sets no cookies. We do not use advertising cookies, we do not use tracking pixels, and we do not sell or share browsing data with advertisers or data brokers.
The one optional thing we ask about is measurement. If you agree, Google Analytics is loaded and sets the cookies listed in section 5. If you do not agree, or you never answer, it is never loaded and no cookie is written. The site works exactly the same either way.
We do count how many people use the site, and we think you should know exactly how, because it is not the usual way.
When you open a page, our own server records the page you opened and the site you arrived from. It does not write anything to your device, it does not store your IP address, and it does not store anything about your browser or phone. To work out whether two visits in a day came from the same person, the server mixes your address with a secret that it throws away every midnight. Once that secret is gone, today's visits can never be matched to tomorrow's, by us or by anybody else.
That is why this needs no permission and why refusing cookies does not affect it: there is no cookie, no identifier and nothing kept that points back to you. The detailed rows are deleted after 90 days. What remains after that is a daily total, such as "412 visits on 14 September", which is about the site rather than about any person.
Google Analytics, described in section 5, is the separate and entirely optional one, and that one does need your agreement.
These are not cookies. They are small entries kept in your own browser's local storage, they are never sent to us automatically, and the site cannot work without them. They are covered here because they are stored on your device and you are entitled to know about them.
You can clear all of it at any time through your browser's settings for this site. Doing so signs you out and makes us ask about cookies again.
If you agree, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are useful and where people get stuck. It sets these cookies:
Where this data goes, and what it means for you, is set out in section 7.
We ask Google to shorten your IP address before it is stored. We do not use Analytics to build advertising audiences, and we have not enabled Google's advertising features.
Some forms, such as our feedback and bug report forms, use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell a person from an automated script. It loads only on those pages, only when you open them, and it exists to stop abuse rather than to identify you. Cloudflare processes your IP address and limited browser information to make that check.
If you agree to measurement, the data that Google Analytics collects, including your shortened IP address, is processed by Google and may be stored outside the country you are in, including in the United States.
If you are in the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area or Switzerland, this is a transfer to a country whose data protection rules differ from your own. It happens only because you agreed to it, and refusing prevents it entirely. The rest of the site works without any such transfer.
You can change your answer at any time, and it takes effect immediately.
Withdrawing is deliberately no harder than agreeing, and nothing about the site becomes worse if you refuse.
If we add anything that stores data on your device, we will update this policy and ask again rather than relying on an answer you gave about something else.
